#14 SP23
It will be June in a few days. I’m sure we’re all tired of hearing it and saying it, but things just seem to be moving too fast at the moment. One of the reasons I love teaching and being in academia is the way the school year creates milestones for the passing of time, especially living in a region with minimal seasonal distinctions. But this semester seemed to fly by, and thanks to finally catching Covid the week before finals, I missed my usual opportunity to reflect on it and the first half of the new year as a whole.
In lieu of a theme or a subject, this playlist is at least an auditory reflection on the first five months of 2023. It’s the sound of course prep and creating books with Alyson Provax, Min Heo, and Kelley O’leary. It’s the soundtrack to Boston and Amherst (Altho, in truth that soundtrack was Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow on audio book, which dear reader, PLEASE read this book) and Las Vegas and Seattle and the Olympic Peninsula. It’s mostly new music with a dash of older songs that have wormed their way into my mind of late.
